Across the Crystal Sea

In 1939, sixteen-year old Dora travels to London for the funeral of her twin sister Amy. In the cemetery chapel, Dora hears a hymn that describes how sinless souls cross ‘the crystal sea.’ Dora is determined to travel over this mysterious water to find her sister.

Will the raven knocking at her window help or hinder Dora? Will the Traveller camping in the ruined tower guide her on the right path? Can her old uncle, recently returned from India, provide answers to questions about life after death? When she finds the seashore, how can she get to the other side?

In 2013, sixteen-year old Jo Robinson meets elderly Great Aunt Dora, who tells her an amazing story. Can it be true? Did Dora really meet Amy and return to tell the tale?
